WHAT IS YOUR FACE SHAPE?

Hey Beauties! :D

Your makeup should always be used to suit your face shape. For example, contouring is used differently for particular face shapes. So how do you know what your face shape is and where to contour it? Well, there are a few different face shapes: oval, round, oblong/rectangular shaped, square, heart-shaped, pear/triangle-shaped, and diamond face shapes. Do you know yours? If not, keep reading.

The oval face shape

  • Your forehead is only a tiny bit wider than your curved chin.
  • Considered to be the most perfect face shape (but I think all face shapes are equally beautiful).
  • Where should you contour: the sides of your forehead (making your hairline appear a little more narrow); the area below your cheekbones.

The round face shape

  • The sides of your face curve slightly outwards.
  • Your chin is rounded.
  • Your cheek bones are the widest part of your face.
  • Where should you contour: the sides of your forehead (making your hairline appear more narrow); under your jawbone (making your jawline appear more narrow); the area below your cheekbones.

The square face shape

  • Your sides of your face are straight.
  • Your jawline is slightly angled.
  • Where should you contour: the sides of your forehead (making this wider area appear more narrow); the area below your cheekbones; your jawline (to lengthen your face).
  • Blush can be applied on the hight of the cheek bones (which helps to define their shape).

The heart-face shape

  • Your chin is pointed.
  • Your forehead is the widest part of your face.
  • Blush should be placed on the round apples of the cheeks.
  • Where should you contour: the sides of your forehead + temples (this creates balance); the area below your cheek bones (to soften your pointed chin).

The pear/triangle-face shape

  • Your forehead is narrow.
  • Your jawline maybe angular or rounded.
  • Opposite to the heart-face shape.
  • Your head is narrower at the top and the bottom half of the face being more rounded in shape.
  • Where should you contour: the sides of your face; below your the cheekbones.

The rectangular/ oblong face shape

  • Your forehead, cheeks and jawline are approximately the same width.
  • Your chin has a very slight curve.
  • Where should you contour: along your hairline (this "creates" a lower hairline); under your chin (making your face appear slightly rounder); area below your cheekbones.

Diamond face shape

  • Your forehead and jawline are narrow.
  • Your cheekbones are the widest part of your face.
  • Your chin is slightly pointed.
  • Where should you contour: the area below your cheekbones.
